auto gearbox flushing checking fault codes cropped

At CCM we use a wide range of diagnostic equipment to reset the Adaptations on each car usually dependant on the model of car.

During normal day to day driving your car’s ECU will be monitoring your driving style by looking at historic gear shift patterns, and can actually learn from your style. If you are an aggressive driver then the ECU will hold onto gears for longer before changing, whereas a more sedate driver will not use such high revs and require a gear change earlier.

Our diagnostic and Adaption process also allows us to ensure that any required software updates can be installed, and at the same time ensure no other faults are resident on your vehicle which may affect the gearbox operation. Resetting the Adaptions is an important part of a professional gearbox oil change.

At CCM we specialise in automatic gearbox work, a subject that many garages shy away from.

As we work daily on various automatic gearbox issues we understand well the requirements and pitfalls associated with this area of vehicle repair.

CCM have invested heavily in high end diagnostic equipment. Yes you can buy something called a diagnostic tool at Halfords, but it will not be the same as the professional tools we have on site and we can assure you will not do the same job. We know this because we have tested them ourselves.

  • Should I consider using synthetic oil?

Synthetic engine oils are produced through a synthesis process that takes very small molecules and assembles them into larger ones.

  • What parts should be replaced?

Not only will we ensure that your oil is completely refreshed with new oil, we will also add an additive to keep the oil fresher for longer and replace filters and sump plugs/pans. All of this guarantees a smoother running gearbox.

  • When should I consider a full flush?

Unfortunately, the gearbox is a wear item so it will eventually need some TLC. A full flush allows us to get all the crud and contaminated oil out, and replace it with fresh, clean oil. We’ll also reset the parameters before handing your keys back to you. All of this will ensure that your automatic gearbox runs smoothly.
